My name is Mallory Dubowsky. I am currently a Junior and a proud public health major at the University of South Florida. I moved to Tampa about a year after I graduated high school to continue my college education at Hillsborough community college where I received my Associated of Arts degree. I plan on graduating from USF May of 2018 with my first Bachelor’s degree in public health. After pursuing a degree in public health, I plan on continuing my education in nursing then enter graduate school to become a nurse practitioner. I work at the Cheesecake Factory full time as a waitress to get myself through college. One my favorite things to do is to travel, discover new places and meet new people. I am an adventurous, spontaneous, and a free-spirited person. I was born in Connecticut but turned out to be a Florida native that can’t get enough of the beach. I grew up in Ormond Beach, FL where the sun shines bright, the beach is a mile away and locals wear bathing suits for their daily attire.
I love to exercise! Running is what I do to stay healthy and keep my stress level low. I try to stay active as much as possible. Growing up, I did gymnastics and competed all over the state of Florida for a gym in Daytona Beach called Powerhouse Gymnastics. Mornings are my favorite part of the day, so you can say that I am a huge coffee and breakfast fan! I love early morning runs. I am also a cat lady. I have a blue-eyed fur-baby named Cosmo that I have had since high school. My first international travel will be in London, United Kingdom with USF over the summer and I couldn’t be more excited about it! I have been planning and looking forward to this trip for months. Experiencing a new culture outside of America is a monumental step to perusing my personal, professional and academic goals that I have set for myself. I believe this trip will help me develop a more global mind set and will help me learn more about myself and my major. Putting myself outside of my comfort zone for a whole month in a country that I have never experienced and with people that I am unfamiliar with is a huge step for me. I look forward to meeting British locals and current USF classmates that are going on this trip with me.
